Orlando, Florida is widely known for celebrities, deep tans, and Disney World. What it isn't known for is what's hidden deep beneath the candy-coated vision everyone else sees- people who are mythically altered and engineered on to be considered what humans refer to as mermaids, fairies, vampires, werewolves, and the like. But they all appear as if all they know is who opened this season's Chanel fashion show.
The boarding school they all attend, known to them as Myth High [outsiders know it as Orlando Coast Academy], they can show their dark side and be their true side while no humans know of their existence. And the queen bee knows what she's talking about. She knows every shoe and bag in last season's Prada collection, and if she catches you wearing one, say goodbye to glory. She's the closest version to a living Barbie as you can get. And everyone worships her. Even if you have a girlfriend, you'd dump her in an instant if she motions you underneath the football bleachers. All the girls wish they could get into the tight clique she formed in 8th grade. But, of course, they never will.
Those other four friends get the privilige of being known as the queen bee's best friends and closest refugees. They know all whats known in fashion, art, TV, sports....ask them, they'll know about it. They all have their dirty little secrets. Along with their alpha. And if they get out, their reputation in gone. They will never be at the top of the social ladder again.
So what happens when their alpha is missing? She's nowhere to be seen. No one has seen her leave. Nothing has her fingerprints. No evidence is left. Not one thing. What could have happened?
Of course, the first suspects are her friends. When they can't find anything, they move on to others. But once they left, texts from a blocked number started surfacing to them. And they know every little secret that the girls have ever had.
And, just a few days after all this, what could possibly be the strangest thing to happen to them is that a stranger, a nobody, moves in and takes the alpha's place. How dare she try that! The girls don't have any interest in her, but, they hate to admit, she makes a great alpha. Mean, hits all the soft spots, and knows fashion. She could rule. She will. But the girls won't warm up to her.
But the thing is, everyone acts as if its perfectly normal for a nobody to suddenly take the spot of the great alpha, who's ruled since she arrived. What will happen?
